Parktronic, distronic and other ics

So I was just reading up on that CL550 coupe and it has more ics than I care to count but I have found that I have a problem with all these systems. My car has a park assist system but to be honest I have a problem trusting the beeps lol... I still stop way before any beeps although I do love the rear camera, it makes life a lot easier to see everything that is behind you on the screen.

What do you think about these systems? Do you trust them?

The only car I've driven with parking sensors was a VW Touareg and it was useful, but I'm sure I could have done just as good a job parking if the car wasn't beeping and flashing constantly. I doubt I'd ever buy them unless they came standard.
